"853" by chance? nice! I've had great luck with the Daisy competition guns. i've swapped out a couple break-barrels in play for a Daisy 753 single-stroke.
it won't take down small game, but will shoot groups smaller than a dime at 25Y easy.
i'm looking to get one of those refurbs from CMP soon.

Informal plinking with my CMP rebuild out about 20 yards or so. Slapped an old Weaver K4 on her and using R10 pellets, she didn't disappoint. I beleive these have Lothar Walther barrels, as it has the stampings on the side of the barrel. Mine shoots R10's at around 518 fps., which seems to be the norm. It came with a nicely figured Prone stock. Length of pull on the stock is short, at like 12.5 inches, so its perfect for kids. Think it came with spacers, but I got it so long ago I forget. Also the receiver is "US" marked. Great value for the money.
