Tuning New regulator for wildcat

I received my new wildcat mk3 from Baker Airguns in January and it’s got a redesigned regulator for easier access and tuning or repair straight from FX. When I asked FX, their reply:

This brass screw is your regulator pressure adjuster screw. It is the same regulator that was used previously in the Wildcat MKIII, it just now has a new form factor to make it easier to repair, and to have more reliability of performance. It is the same regulator as what is in the Impact, Crown, Maverick, and Dreamline.

If it's the same regulator does it make it have more performance. I'm doubting that small claim. No problems with the Wildcat. It's good. Just specifically questioning the performance notion. What is reliability of performance if it's the same regulator but is adjusted differently. Seems like some marketing hype on that claim specifically

ADJUSTS THE SAME IF I RECAL 1/4 TURN DRY FIRE SAME AS REST OF THE FX LINEUP THAT HAS THE GEN3 REG IM NOT A FAN OF THE 1/4 TURN I DEGASS THE READJUST THE REGS FROM LOWER PRESURES THEN GO UP TO WHAT IS NEEDED FOR THE TUNE. I BELIEVE THEY CALL THE WILDCAT THE AMP MINI REG MMM?

Me too. Which if true means zero performance gains

Um, I guess I missed something. $75 bucks for washers doesn't sound cheap to me.

Perhaps I don't understand why they are that expensive?

Looks like the whole plenum is a separate unit. The reg is integretaded in the plenum, without the need for a spacer inside, And also probably no need to dissasemble the tube to gain acces to the reg when doing maintenance, as the hosing can be screwed directly out.

The change of construction with adding an additional separate part to the air tube that obviously contains the new regulator would have been an exellent opportunity to increase plenum volume. Does anyone know if the plenum volume was changed by this change in construction ?

was the add on / regulator part added to the length of the original tube or was the original tune shortened in order to get same total length again ?

the only advantage I see from the new construction is that it is easier to, once the airtube is screwed off, to get to the regulator as with old construction you had to unscrew the front of the air tube as well in order to push the regulator out with a rod.

I do not have a wildcat mk3, but to me the reg on the picture looks just the same as the seccond reg on the maverick, where you can scew the regbody out, and have acces to all the internals, without having to dissasemble the tube. Maybe it is easier to take the tube off, but for me it doeas not seems nesessary to dissasemble it.

It looks as if you do not need to loosen and take off the air cylinder to take the reg out on the newest WC configaration. Again missed change to increase the plenum though. ( 901 airgun repaits can help one out here )

It looks as if you do not need to loosen and take off the air cylinder to take the reg out on the newest WC configaration. Again missed change to increase the plenum though. ( 901 airgun repaits can help one out here )

If the total lenght of the cylinder increase, there will be issues with it extending further than the barrel, limiting the use of many moderators. That means the main reservoir need to be smaller, to keep the same lenght. More plenum is also not always better, not all buyers are planning to use the gun as a high power slug shooter.

I got the exact same gun ,as of a month ago.

When you have screwed the reg adjuster out first, you put a bigger allen key in the same hole, and you can screw the reg body out. You offcorse have to depressurize first, othervise you will blow a O-ring in the adjsuter screw. If the tube is placed like on the picture, you might have to take the barrel off, if it is obstructing removal.
