new Rapid Air Weapons .25 cal (60 fpe edition) video by AEAC

My thoughts exactly. Martin could substantially increase his bottom line if he would expand his operation just a little bit. I'm sure there are a plethora of venture capitalists out there who would jump at the chance to provide financing! I acknowledge that a big part of RAW's success is Martin's hands-on management and direct role in QC. Even though Martin is a relatively young man, the brutal truth is he will not be around forever. If he wants his fantastic company to live on after his departure, he needs to train a protégé to take over. If done right, quality and service will not suffer. In fact, it will actually improve.

I've been going back and forth with Martin over the .30 vs the .25, and this was his final verdict on the matter:

"Both Cals are capable of grouping very well, even the same at 100yds, but in my opinion for now, the 30cal is much easier to shoot those groups, the 25 would be more for a shooter who can deal with wind and other issues in keeping tight groups at long distances."

So I kept the .30. And maybe I'll buy a .25 next.

Why not buy a extra .25 barrel?
It is a less than 10 minute swap from .30 to .25. I did it many times. You only need a RAW .25 barrel, screw-in probe and magazine.
I shot my 25 BSA barrel without even changing the HST or reg. pressure, and it shot great with king heavies in stock .30 settings.

Hi guys:

Excellent review Steve, I enjoy very much your videos, so very well produced and with a lot of useful information. As a matter of fact your previous reviews on RAW airguns were the reason that I order a HM1000X in .22 calibre, and guess what?............ I just received my rifle one week ago, all the way from Minor Hill, TN to the City of Mérida in the Yucatan peninsula, México, those were 14 very long weeks of waiting¡¡¡¡
I´m a new member of this forum but I started as an airgun shooter some seven years ago, at this moment I own some top brand air rifles but, with no doubt, I can say that none of my airguns equals the quality of my HM1000X, it´s a perfect blend of art and engineering.

Leave you a pair of photos of my HM1000X in .22 calibre with LW Polygon barrel. This weekend I will shoot this rifle for the first time and make some groupìng test as well as a cronograph string.

Regards from Mexico

Jospapa, thank you so much for the photos! You got the same style stock as I ordered for my RAW HMx .357 (130 ft-lbf regulated): Thumbhole laminate w/ adjustable cheekpiece. Except I got the Forest Green laminate. I gotta say though, the Charcoal laminate really complements the blacked action and barrel. Man, the .22 version is a laser! The groups are gonna be insane. Your rifle rest is sick, as well. Please let us know how she performs.

I too have owned some top-of-the-line air rifles, and I consider the RAW a natural progression along the airgun evolutionary line. IMO, RAWs are superior to the Swedish and English offerings. Yucatan Peninsula, huh? I live on the Mexican border as well; although I am 2,500 miles away to the north at the other end of Mexico, right across the Tijuana border in Imperial Beach, CA.

Martin told me to expect shipment of my baby in less than three weeks! I've been waiting 7-1/2 weeks. It is my understanding that 10 weeks is actually the short list, so I consider myself lucky :). Luckily also, I live in the lower 48; so shipment will be four day ground. God, I'm really getting excited now. In an ironic way, I'm kind of glad it takes so long to receive RAWs because it gave me the opportunity to see all the posts and reviews!

Marcella69, thank you very much for your kind comments, it feels great to be welcome this way. I really hope my HM1000x ends up performing with "laser beam" accuracy. If you check RAW´s Facebook page, sometime around april Martin uploaded some photos of a 3/4" group at 100 yds; made with a HM1000X in .22, shooting 18 grains JSB´s @ 930 fps. Men.... a 3/4" group at 100 yards????¡¡¡¡ that is freaking awesome, absolutely insane... and a clear proof of the high quality of RAW´s airguns.
I agree with you a 110% when you say that RAWs are superior by far to the Swedish and Britt offers, I guess that in terms of quality in finishing and accuracy only my FTP900 compares to the HM1000x. I know that both rifles were designed for different purposes, I´m only saying that both are top-quality in finishing and performance.
So you live close to the US-Mexican border?, well that´s nice man, I guess it is right to say that we are neighbors. I´m really glad that this forum and our passion for airguns serve as a bridge between countries, mainly now that walls seems to be such a frequent topic.

Best regards from Mexico to all forum members.

PS.- Sorry if my english is not as good as it should be.

José, your English is flawless. Quite remarkable, actually; even as a first language. I was born in a small town in Sicily (Prizzi) and my mother (God Rest Her Soul) and sister never really mastered the English language. I was lucky in a way in that I was a small child when I came to America, whereas my mom and sis were already adults.

I've seen pics of 1" groups at 100 yards for the RAW .357. Your .22 will have a much flatter trajectory with her higher velocity, so I am not surprised at the tighter grouping. I never got such groups at 75 yards, let alone 100 yards with my Daystate Pulsar .25 or my FX Impact .30. But, I never shot them off a proper benchrest; my shooting was always done out in the field off a Primos Trigger Stick tripod. I am of the mind that zeroing and ranging should be done in the same manner as the rifle is to be used while hunting. I have bought a two-point rifle rest adapter for my Trigger Stick, so I should be able to achieve a more stable firing platform.

I'm really looking forward to getting my RAW. I sold my Pulsar to buy my Impact, and I sold the Impact to buy the RAW; so I've been without a hunting rifle for over six weeks now. Man, hunting is such a big part of my life that I am really getting antsy! I am anxious to see what kind of groups I can get with my new set-up. The RAW .357 HMx (130 ft-lbf regulated) is a real step up for me ballistics-wise. She is literally twice the power as my Impact .30, and I thought the Impact was a hammer! The new RAW .357 is truly commensurate with the power and accuracy of a standard .22lr rimfire (130 ft-lbf at the muzzle and 80 ft-lbf at 100 yards w/ an SD of 3.00). My new RAW delivers more impact energy at 100 yards than my Impact did at the muzzle! Look out, bunnies!

Yeah, I fell in love with San Diego when I was stationed here in the Navy as a teenager. I was raised in rural Pennsylvania, which is about as far away from San Diego as San Diego is from Mérida! It is about 50% Mexican here in the small border town of Imperial Beach ("IB") where I live. The Sicilian and Mexican people are simpatico in that we both have similar cultures, religion, and language; cripes, we even look the same! I feel at home here in IB.

At any rate, welcome to the forum. AGN is my go to place for fellowship and all things airgun. Keep me posted on the stats you get with your new RAW!

Sincerely,
Marco Antonio Prizzi Marcella
