new / old permission ... dairy ... Welcomed Me Back after 15 years absence

Last shot there 15 years ago and barely remembered how to get there.

I drove South on I-5 and took what looked like the right exit then just kept driving and tried to 'remembered my way back'. There was a dairy and a LARGE chicken egg farm down there somewhere?

I knew I was on the right road but couldn't remember which permission THAT ROAD would take me to.

Saw a barn 1/4 mile West and it looked about right, it was the dairy. Knocked on the front door and 'Betty' remembered me and told to me "have at it" and come back whenever I wanted to. Later I met the daughter, after killing a pile of birds, and SHE THANKED ME FOR SHOOTING THERE! No one can get ammo!!!!!!

It was cool when the dairy workers watched me take my first shot and drop a starling off the roof at 40 yards and they gave me the 'thumbs up'.

It a VERY CLEAN dairy unlike the other one I have access to. The dirty dairy makes me lose interest in eating ANYTHING DAIRY for a month.

I found the chicken egg facility and it smells disgusting just like it did 15 years ago and not really wanting it so much anymore.

Mr. JohnnyPDX

You must have done a professional job 15 years ago to be welcomed back.

What is your rifle of choice on this permission....maybe the Taipan V .25, what scope and ammo? One more question, is this a day or night time shoot?

I am a Taipan V Long .22 wantabe (is that a word), it was ordered a while ago and hope I get it before I forgot I ordered it!

Continued good luck with your permissions,

28.5 miles and 29 minutes to the dairy.

My next permission to re-visit, from the past, is a three hour drive into John Day country (Eastern Oregon) and has ALFALFA PIVOTS with GS. The guy has to be in his 80's. He told me I was welcome to fish for the massive catfish in the high desert river and I never did, tooooooo many rattle snakes for this hoser.

Fifteen + years ago he gave me permission with RULES and told me he sits next to the county sheriff in church, I followed the rules.

You got it SIr, the Taipan VL.25 AND the Daisy M853. Taipna using JSB / FX 25.4, Hades if I had some, with a Bug Buster 3 x 9 on both. Daytime deal thus far but maybe pre-dawn too. Both dairies SEEM like a great place to arrive before sunrise and whack 'em in the rafters.

I hope you get the Taipan SOON and yes 'wantabe' is a word just because we say so!

Makes me want to return with my arsenal, hint, hint...

Hell Yes FelixS, lets go to Eastern Oregon. This is a dice toss going back after sooooooo long but you gotta drive some miles and knock on doors to get results. Rubber has to meet the road to get this done and I'd love to have your company, we can score.

I shot a few rockchuck near Madras too, long time ago.

That is good news... Nice! I like the story of rediscovering your old pesting spot. Is it far from home?

Mr. L.Leon, Thank You!

In Googling for the mileage I also clicked on the map and realized the lake behind the dairy, on their property, is actually part of a stream that connects to the Willamette River. That river's valley has a HUGE PROBLEM with Nutria.

I just packed the car.

Yes, following the rules is a given. Also, the dairy I have gone to in Idaho when I have been state side welcomes me back because I am careful about my shots. I could easily have a higher target count, but that means then worrying less about what is behind the target, which I won’t ever do.

I took a guy, from StraightShooters forum, to Eastern Oregon and he was doing his best to NOT FOLLOW THE RULES. Never to spoke to the AHOLE again!

Silos are a No-No, that's just begging to make a hole where there shouldn't be one.
