When @Mrshosted first mentioned he might make a Crown power wheel I said I’ll take one because one of my crown MK2 came with the old 6 steep power wheel. As time goes by I totally forgot about it, I almost ordered a new FX power wheel but forgot about that too when I called FX. Then couple of weeks ago Mont reached out and asked if I still wanted one, since I forget to get the new FX wheel I said sure!
I liked his Impact power wheel but it didn’t have color marking so my expectation wasn’t super high. Then I received the wheel today and WOW! Dramatical improvement and I can confidently say it’s not just better than the new FX power wheel it’s at another level! Simply superb!!! As soon as I lay my eye on it I was super impressed by the fit and finish! The main wheel is aluminum with anodized finish so the power settings are clearly marked so vast improvement compared to my old all steel impact wheel. The preload and ballbearing contact areas are on machined and polished stainless steel.
Then I was wondering why so many parts compare to a single part from FX but as soon as I mounted on my crown I understood the design and it is truly next level!
As all of you know if you tighten the screw that secures the FX power wheel to the action a little too tight the power wheel would bind or becomes hard to turn. I’m sure I’m not the only one had the power wheel screw come loose. Well, that brass bushing solved that problem! I snugged the screw down securely and the power wheel will still rotate freely/smoothly! It is just so nice!!!
the only thing I found that didn’t quite work as it should is the numbering starts at 2 but 2 is the lowest setting I can use. Maybe I’m doing something wrong, I’m fine with 1-17. It’s a super minor gripe really and I really love this new power wheel from @Mrshosted!
