New Meopta Scopes

Excuse me ;my thoughts are not about what is being said, butt a general thought of mine..

First off a hunting scope is for a stated purpose, hunting and usually Not made for air guns, thus to gripe about something that is not made for your purpose is what?

I have found most any scope works in good light, under 20yds.and at low power.

Meopta is a old brand, it is a good brand..

Remember it is not made for air rifles and though a great brand may not be right for you.

I think there are lighter scopes that may fill a air gunners purpose better.

For hunting and being bright and tight and strong Meopta is a good investment.

Tell the truth,I am always on the outlook for Meopta brand, usually binoculars ..from people that do not know what they have and sell them cheaply.....by the way Calelas used to use Meopta brand for their top-of-line optics....

Thanks for clearing that up! Do these scopes come with hoods, or are hoods available? Also, how is the ranging on these scopes? Do they have a thin plane of focus from front to back? I'm mainly interested in using this scope for hunter field target at 16X.

Thanks!

Well, i can only speak on my experience withe the Optika6 5-30x56 FFP, both with Mil dot 3 reticle. I also have an Athlon Ares ETR (costs a LOT more), and i am planning to sell it!

The glass is amazingly clear, and the sight stays clear from 5 up to 30 magnification. Can’t say that about the Athlon!

The ones I bought came with bikini style lens covers. And based on their website, Sunshades(extensions) and flip up covers are available.

You just need to pay attention if you want FFP or SFP. Both available (depends on reticle)

And one thing: DON’T let the minimum 25 yards of parallax hold you back, because my 5-30x56 are clear as can be from about 12-15 yards!

Here you can see Joe, from Cyclops videos, giving his opinion about Meopta scopes. I can tell you one thing! You won’t regret buying a Meopta!

And your lucky, because in the US they are WAY cheaper, compared to European prices (bigger market)

Cheers
