Hi folks. New member here.
My wife recently gave me an early Christmas present...a Benjamin 392. I was super stoked about, and still am I guess, but I have a few concerns. The gun came from Academy Sports and the box was in rough shape. It had been taped back together, there wasn't much in the way of packaging inside the box, nor was there an owner's manual. The bolt is difficult to close with a pellet loaded. I almost have to force the bolt forward to get the pellet into the chamber. I don't remember that at all from my Crossman 2400 from 15 or so years ago. The bolt pushed the pellet into place and closed butter smooth on that gun, but not so the 392. Likewise, the 392 is HARD to pump. Even the opening stroke has more resistance than I would expect. I could pump my Crosman 2100B all day long 20 or so years ago as a 10 year old. I'm not a weak person, and I know the 392 is way more of a gun than the 2100, but after 10 shots this evening, I honestly didn't feel like shooting anymore.
Is this normal for the 392, or do I maybe have a lemon and that why the box looks like it might have been a return at one point?
Thanks for reading!
