I bought these two rifles based on feedback from here. First the RWS for my 11-year old son who made all A's this past year. Then when I found he could not cock it, I kept it for myself and got him the Weihrauch with open sights. We both LOVE the HW30S, and I also like the RWS34.
The only problem I have had with the RWS is the scope it came with is likely defective. I have tried several groups with the scope on and off and the groups are very good at 18 yards with open sights (about 1.0-1.25 inch), but strangely enough with the scope mounted--> the groups are within an inch left and right, but as much as 12 inches up and down. The mount and rings are solid each time I have tested. I have been dealing with scoped rifles for >20 years, and the groups I am putting up with the same rifle/pellet with iron sights indicate it has to be a scope issue.
Anyone else have issues such as this with RWS scopes?
thanks
