Good morning folks. I have a Beeman R1 with the Santa ROsa address I purchased in May of 1988 for $350. It has been lightly used in the backyard for squirrels and possums. Probably fewer than 500 shots through it. It performs very well to this day. I am looking for an airgun gunsmith for two reasons. I would like to have a Hawke Airmax 3 9x40 AO installed on it and I would like to have it professionally cleaned. If anyone has any suggestions for a gunsmith within 100 miles of Downtown Dallas it would be greatly appreciated. The safety does not reset when cocked, I have no owners manual or other material on the gun (wish i did). Would love to be able to source a copy of the care and maintenance manual that came with this fine example .20 caliber.

Hw aint complacated to take down do your stuff to it and reassemble. + You gain that experience youll be glad you do. Most times the safety issue is bad trigger adjustment.. you may back the trigger off say one or two turns then cock it and see if the safety works. Sometimes may back it off a bunch or to the point the trigger will not pull all then go back a 1/4 turn at a time ( using decock ) to check the safety action and set trigger pull to a nice spot.. too hair a trigger will make the safety not engage..

You should be able to get a manual from download from P.A ( pretty much hw or beeman like rifle is close enugh not much/ minor in changes).

I hate to throw a guy from here but GTA and German gate . Youll get boo coos of replies on your needs of a local guy or owners. More springer oriented / alternative forum on a lot of things. But it's going pcp more and more it seems as well...lol.. it's just a little deeper there on some hw / spring stuff. Maybe overwhelming..lol.

Lol.. being a member here and being here ... Ya, know.. back when i coud post a springrr thread here snd nothing but crickets chirping.. or amswer with nobody shoots that gun . More like of you did not shoot a $1000 worth of pcp thing , but ots got better hete with more guys in springers.. i feel its got better on that here now .. before i just abandoned agn for a good wile , but im hanging out a lot now..
