New Member Intro

Hi gunners

New member here, Kevin, on line as KTN.

Long time lurker of airgun info and decided to get into it because I live in Jersey which has the most problematic gun laws....can't use a small cal rifle on my own farm for critter control. I wanted to use the rifle to knock off the varmints killing my chickens and other critters. We are inundated with coons, red foxes, ground hogs and the occasional yote!

I'm super surprised at the accuracy of my FX dreamline .25...was consistently putting a 25g pellet through 3/4 plywood at 50 yds during sight-in. I know that the 50 yard energy is good...any idea if this gun is as lethal at 100 yards? Is there a better gun for longer range shooting?

Thanks, Kevin

Your Dreamline should be fine for pesting all birds and small furry things all the way up to possum sized at 100 yards. Groundhogs probly too if you can head shoot them. As for the foxes and yotes I feel you would be pushing it at 100 yards but less than that with a good head shot it should do. Better more powerful gun for longer ranges sure but do you need it? The Dreamline is set up for interchangeable barrel liners so it's likely you can get a slug liner for the gun. There will probly be power upgrades along soon if they are not already out there.

Lots of them fit many of us shoot the NSA and VarminKnockers VK's You will find NSA here

and VK's here

although I have heard rumors that VK's may be a bit hard to get right now as he is getting new machinery.

Some of the above are made specifically for FX slug barrels. I and several others around here have managed to get several slugs from both companies to shoot sub MOA at 100 yards once we had our guns correctly tuned which can take several hundred rounds to do.
