New LR .257 project gun

Finally finished my new LR rig - texan in .257 with maddog RJ9A stock. The gun is pretty heavy, so with the muzzle brake there's hardly any recoil - very easy to spot your hits & misses. Shooting exclusively NSA ammo - probably the 65 and 70grain as they seem to be the most accurate ones. More testing coming and some footage to youtube in the near future!

100 meters / 109 yards. Muzzle velocity was set to around 1000fps with 70gr hp-bt bullets. This is still very initial testing, but so far so good.

Nice group! I had to do the conversion from millimeters to inches. I hate when I have to do that lol.

Yeah the groups are not that bad, averaging around 1MOA, but the gun should preferably print 1/2MOA groups @100, otherwise there's no point to even try any LR shooting.. but we'll see.

I have never cared for the Air Force guns because of the styling, but yours looks really nice! What does it weigh?

How much do one of those stocks run?

Thanks Tomiboy. I think it's around 17lbs with all the accessories attached. The stock is around $500. Not cheap, but it sure helps with the accuracy and makes the gun more stable and consistent to shoot from bench or prone position. There was only one issue - I originally had harris bipod, but the gun is so huge and heavy with the stock so I needed something with lot more wider stance to keep it rock steady.
