New Lelya .25 first experience

From my observations are King Heavies MK2 like 830 fps. So, yes that would work perfect. All the .25s had, I tune the gun to Heavies MK2 for long distances/paper punching, but then flip/flop to Regular Kings for hunting (where the flatter Trajectory is a little more forgiving if you don't range perfectly).

Thanks. So at what speed do you shoot the normal Kings then ? You also speak about shooting with a Lelya 2.0. .25 ?

“Drop the speed down to 840-850 f/sec and try shooting again “

All your comment very much apprecited.

Would leaving my setting untouched but using the King Heavies instead of the standard Kings improve my groups ?

This way the speed will drop to approx 810 fps. I guess. Would this likely bring better groups under same circumstances ?

With my R5M, shooting the 25.4 grain Kings at 900 FPS, the velocity dropped about 100 to 110 FPS with the 33.9 grain King Heavy MK2s. FYI.

Thanks a lot. This confirms an approx. 10% drop in velocity when replacing Kings by the King heavies.

These two bags work best for me.

I own a Lelya .22 but have shot other .25s Pcps and switch between Kings and King Heavy MK2. I don't recall what speed the Heavies MK1s like. It's been a while since I shot my .25, forgot the exact velocity, but I thought it was an 80-90fps difference between the two. Centercut probably knows more on this topic.

I’m no expert, but its closer to a 110 FPS or even a little more drop from the Kings to Heavies. At 900 FPS, you’re at 45.7 FPE. For the Heavies to generate 45.7 FPE they would fly at about 780 FPS. Add a little for increased efficiency with the heavier pellets and you get about 790 FPS or a drop of 110 FPS.

After reading this, I’ve confirmed the R5M is more my style. Big power, dime accuracy, and only a few inches longer. If / when I replace my .25 Cricket, it’ll be R5M or if I’m lucky, a smallbore/Hi-Power AAA Slayer.

Brian, when you’re ready to move that undershot Cricket let me know 😁

The Lelya looks awesome. I’d love to have one in .25. The R5M also looks good.

Well...I tuned mine slightly down according to the advise of Ed from Edgun and my groups are with “ dime accuracy” now so for accuracy there is nothng against a LELYA . ( and also for other aspects it is a miracle this small gem )
