New Items. AAA Evol Factory Tools

I called AoA about a week ago and had them connect me to their tech department. I spoke with Jacob (I think) and asked him if they had a spanner pin wrench to remove the barrel from the newer Evols' with the extended scope picatinny rail. He put me on hold and said he would check with another tech. A few minutes pass and he gets back on the phone and informs me that Tom Costan dropped off some new tools for the Evol along with their order of guns. Jacob said that they didn't know they had them and it wasn't even on their website yet. They just added them to their site a few days after I ordered them. Sometimes it helps to ask.

Unfortunately, there was no spanner wrench available for the new Evols with the extended scope rail. Bummer because it would make fixing a leak or adjusting the regulator a whole lot easier by removing the barrel first instead of the air tube. I fixed a leak about a couple of weeks ago and those that have been on the inside should know what I'm talking about. Anyways, the new items I'm referring to are the Gauge Tool and the Moderator Nut Removal Tool.

In regards to the Gauge Tool, unless you are using a really thin walled socket, I'm not sure you'll be able to remove the gauge. Yes, you could remove it with an adjustable wrench like I did prior to receiving the new tools although it's not as clean doing so. Both of the tools accept standard 1/4" male socket heads. I haven't tried using the new tools yet because there's no reason to do so at the moment. Here's a few pics of the new items and the links at AoA. Hope this helps.

P.S.

Tom, if you're reading this, could you make the spanner pin wrench for the newer Evols' with the extended scope rail available at AoA?

Had no idea about these tools thanks! That gauge tool will be very useful. Not sure I plan on removing the shroud but ever though.

I'm just happy that a manufacturer provides the tools available to the public for purchase for removal of proprietary parts. I also agree that I may never remove the moderator nut but happy to know that if I ever decide to, I have the tools on hand. I was just posting this hoping it might reach someone in need.

So I received the new AAA Evol/Slayer Spanner Wrench. I tried to remove the barrel but it's on there pretty good. I might need to put it in a vice. Before I screw up anything, for those who have the old style receivers without the extended front scope rail or if Tom can answer, does the barrel just unscrew or is there a set screw that needs to be removed first. If I'm looking at the muzzle, it's lefty loosey, righty tighty correct? I was looking at the receiver schematics and noticed a screw on the top rail. Does the screw need to be loosened to remove the barrel or is it only for the chamber to be removed.
