Hello, everyone. I just opened my brand new FX Impact X and it has this scratch on it. It seems like a hassle to exchange it but I’m not sure what to do. What would you guys do? Is it really that big of deal?

That sucks but if that's the only imperfection id probable let it fly. I own a impact and the pic rail on the bottom is getting a pretty good wear from my atlas bi pod being put on and off.

It wouldn't bother me personally. I would shoot the gun to make sure it works well and is accurate though and if not then all the more reason to ask for an exchange. I can see why this would be a problem for a lot of people. When you spend that much money you want perfection.

It shouldn't have happened but I guarantee you'll get a mark or two in the near future. It'll almost make you cry. When I just received my gray laminate Crown I unboxed it, was looking it over and admiring my new favorite gun. I turned it over to check the bottom side and look at the gauges when the dadgum cheek riser fell out on the cement garage floor and put a couple of dings on two edges as it bounced across the floor. Boy was I upset to say the least. As long as it shoots great don't worry about it.... too much.

I would just let who ever you bought it from know you received it with that scratch(send them a pic) and then I would see if it rubs out a bit, other then that I would keep it knowing someday it might end up with a few more scratches and with that said I would just shoot it and enjoy it.
If you didn’t unpack it in front of the delivery person and the box wasn’t damaged it’s hard to prove and convince the seller that you received it that way, they could just say that you must of scratched it when you unpacked it or you did it some other way, they could just say it was fine when we sent it out OR they could say send it back on your dime and we will send you out another one when we receive yours and now your looking at another 2 weeks to get a replacement and who’s to say that one will come unscathed. I’d just keep it.

I’m having a hard time trying to figure out why some of you guys buy high end air guns if your worried about a ding or a scratch or two .

You're correct Yote—they are a tool, and tools wear out over time. I might add, that every one of those scratches mine have, is a story unto itself!

I don’t mind scratches but would like to be the one to make the first one on such an expensive gun. Point taken though. Thanks for your help everyone. I’m not going to worry about it.

See what the dealer says. If they give you attitude send them a pic of every receipt when you buy a PCP from someone else. If they are friendly and try to understand or do something keep them on the books. I'm with ya though, scratches happen but let me be the one doing the scratching.

I sent the dealer the picture of the scratch right when I noticed it, just to let them know the issue while I decide what to do. They said I could return it no problem so that’s nice. I’m just going to keep it though, it will be it’s birthmark

I would let the shop know maybe they will give you some free pellets. It is not what they advertise they are selling huh

I guarantee, though, if it were a brand new car most would take it back to the dealer to have something done about it- the next day for sure. Food for thought.

Keep and shoot the bull pup ask them to send u a new rail and paid returned envelope .i dont like marks on my stuff will it happen yup just part of it ..i dont need there help scratching it.my opinion pat
