I just got another hunting permission. This new location is at a dairy farm and I'm very excited about this new location. The first time I went out was actually this past Tuesday and I didn't take any pictures. On Tuesday I was able to bag 29 collard doves. Tonight I went out again and was able to only get 19 collard doves. I only brought back 15 because four doves were taken by a couple of hawks roaming the area. Here are a couple of pictures of my hunt.
In this first picture, I was able to get 11 doves with my prod and only 4 with my mrod. I have been gravitating more and more to my prod when I go out on hunts because shooting the prod is so much easier to hunt with then the mrod. Most of my kills are with in 35 yards and my prod can easily make these shots.

I just spent the last hour de-breasting 13 birds.

If you noticed, I said 13 birds. I had to toss two birds because the meat was completely destroyed and I'm very sure these two birds were the ones I shot with the mrod.
This is my first time hunting on a dairy farm and it's very risky shooting there. I noticed all the heavy farm equipment have large windows and in the past, I never understood why. Now I know why. Tons of flies. They were everywhere. I mostly drove around the area because I didn't like being in a cloud of flies.
Today the flies weren't too bad because winds were 15 mph and gusting to 20 but on Tuesday it was very light winds. It was hard trying to shoot while flies were crawling all over you. I really need to remember the bug spray next time I go back out.
Another thing I had to be careful of was of course the cows. Not that I would shoot them. I had to make sure I had a good back stop or I'm shooting towards the desert. When I would shoot a bird down, one of the cows would immediately run over to the fallen bird and if I needed to make a followup shoot, I had to attempt my second shoot before a cow came over. Not sure if a cow would actually eat a bird but I didn't want to find out.
