I'd have to check, but I believe it was Friday Amazon started shipping.

The first batch has been here in the US, it's just getting Amazon to putting them out. They opened up the ordering before they were ready to actually send them.

Next batch should be in a week or so, after those are sold, it may some time until they are replaced. Europe is 1.5 months for their next shipment.

Guys, call me crazy but this is one sexy MF piece of equipment 😅
One detail; if you’re opening it, watch two pins on the top side of the separator’s body (2nd picture), it’s not fixed in any way and it will fall out if you turn the separator while unscrewing the top part, so be aware to open it carefully.
Today it goes on my YH to work, wish me luck 😅

EDIT: I tried it with my YH, it’s GREAT. I’m really glad for this investment

I just got mine today. I took it apart before seeing this post, and had to quickly take it back apart to make sure I didn't lose the pins that I didn't notice in the first place. :)

I agree that it's a nice piece of equipment. I don't usually get too excited about support equipment, but this really simplifies my rig. (y)

I agree, it is a MUCH higher quality filter than the Tuxing or other varieties on Amazon.

Pro tip for the pins...
Take them out of the filter body, put a dab of nail polish on the end of the pin, and re-insert it into the filter housing. Give it 15-30 minutes to dry, and reassemble without fear of losing them.

I did not see a useful purpose for those pins so I just pulled them out. If you see something they do please advise. They seem to pretty much preclude screwing the filter back together. What have I missed?

I used my GX filter with my GX CS2 to refill one of my P35s today. Any extra time for filling the filter did not really bother me. I do need to remember to open both vents on the filter, or the bottom vent of the filter and the vent on the compressor. I did not do either today before extracting the fill probe. Made a bit of noise but didn't hurt anything. But still not a good practice.

You missed that upper part has one independently rotatable ring on its bottom, in which those pins should go. When you adjust them and that ring- only then you can rotate/screw the top back to its place.

I’m surely not the expert but that does seem like a safety feature to me.

The pins correctly clock the outlet and bleed valve in the correct orientation.

Why the bleed valve and outlet need to orientated a certain way is a good question. Other than making the labels line up?

The Joe B. version just screws together properly. Threads timed from the get go. Must have saved GX a few cents to add pins instead...

I have the GX dryer now. Won't hurt to have a spare.
And my air is so dry, even Angels can't cry. 😉

As others have mentioned, they serve only to perfectly align the outlet port with the rest of the filter. Without the pins, the threads still screw in, the o-rings still seal the filter, which is where 100% of the "work" is done. And once a bit of pressure is inside the filter housing, the top wouldn't rotate anyway.

The fingernail polish means I don't have to worry about losing them any longer, and still have my labels lining up. :cool:
