new guy with a question

I paid $100 for it, back in 1974. :) A nomad Browning, 6 3/4" barrel. In today's money, that would be $800. Any of the bull barrel Rugers can do it, for $350. I dont need 4 MOA in my pellet pistol. 1/2" groups at 7 yds are fine and that's just 7 moa. Up close, with iron sights, it's very difficult to do better than 1/2" groups at 10 yds. regardless of how capable the gun is at 50 yds. Thanks for your thoughts, tho.

;) If you don't want a repeater, those Crossmans are very hard to beat for the money. I had a 1377 I gave to my sister which I wish I still had. They are quite good and as accurate as any rifle of the same quality.

Not sure about trigger, but I run some 10 m matches at the local club, and one of the guys uses a 1377 and does very well. Of course he holds it two handed and uses peep sight on it, but his scores are always in the top 3 every year. So the gun will do it.

For the 10m shooting you are looking to do, you may also want to browse around on the TargetTalk forum. Although over there, if it doesn't cost way too much money, they usually don't think it is worth much.

I checked out the Benjamin P17. Somebody could have mentioned the AK-47 type roll off trigger pull and the 3 dot sights with the rounded front sight that wont let you precisely level it with the top of the rear sight blade. Also, the notch in the rear sight is much too narrow for the poor light typical of indoor shooting. That can be fixed by skilled use of a swiss needle file, but if you had to pay somebody to do it, it would cost you $30. Perhaps careful taping of the sights will give an adequate sight picture, too. The velocity/power level is less than a daisy lever action bb "rifle", btw.
