new guy here,optics question

Well, the OP has already seen his first negative response -- mine. I feel a lot better now that I went out back and shot the living hell out of my targets. Sometimes that's all it takes to fix a wrong-side-of-the-bed day. I'm not usually so grumpy.

Yeah, I recognized that you were just pretending for fun. I thought another poke might bring out some more humor.

Thanks for the chuckles, it's like a day with the gang at the range. :)

I seriously hope I didn't scare the OP away.

Hi dabaka. Welcome to AGN. Please don't let an occasional grumpy post like mine keep you from hanging out with us. Cheers.

@dabaka What’s your budget for a scope? Do you have a preferred magnification range? Do you know if you prefer first focal plane or second focal plane scopes? Do you know if you would like an illuminated reticle to aid in shooting in low light conditions?

If cannot answer these questions, consider watching the linked video below to become acquainted with some rifle scope basics. It is less than 10 minutes in length.

7 Things You Need to Know About Air Rifle Scopes

Hey, @dabaka 👍🏼

@Ezana4CE in the post cited above posted good questions and videos for you.

May I add a couple more questions:
● For what shooting scenarios is the cope: Plinking, target shooting, hunting (what animals?)?

● At what minimum ranges and maximum ranges do you expect to shoot for each scenario?

When we get your answers we will be ready to give you specific recommendations — geared to your needs — beyond the "I like scope XYZ" type of advice.

Welcome to AGN! 😊

Welcome to AGN. I would also like to add that vector optics also offers a nice compact fixed 10x scope too. But I also own several utg's, a couple discovery scopes, a few bushnells, and a few monstrum tacticals. And they all have there use. I also think you should give Matthias thread a read. Good luck and again welcome. Let us know what you went with.

Hello everybody i want to get into the pcp and looking around for some good deals that dont break the bank, anyway here is a scope i came across

Burris 4-16x50mm Fullfield IV 6.5 Creedmoor Scope

and was wondering would that be a good fir for pcp, looking to shoot 75yds tops, but 50 will be probably very common
i dont know the first thing about optics, always been a bow hunter :) so i figured better ask you guys than getting generic chat gpt answers

I guess I got up on the wrong side of the bed this morning, but I think I can see the future of this thread. It goes on and on -- trying to HELP the orignal poster. I doubt that the original poster will ever give anyone here any feedback at all -- not answer a single question -- no response at all. I hope I'm wrong, but I'm sure tired of being right. We'll see. It makes me think all new guys are frickin' robot data collectors.
