New guy here, need some help(Luftpistolen)

Acquired a Walther LP 53 Luftpistolen . trying to find what year it was manufactured . Ser. no. (0177XX ). Not interested in selling it ! . Tried surfing for dates but failed so I thought I might try here. This is my only airgun ,but who knows ,maybe more in the future. Would really appreciate if some one could help.

Looks to me to be around 1956. The smooth finish was used on the earlier guns. Yours is a beauty! The main fault with the LP53 was a tendency for rear sight breakage.

Thanks for the replies, been real helpful. I'm retired with a small pension. I've got about a dozen S&W pistols in my safe and I'm thinking maybe I'd sell one or two and get into this airgun stuff. Seems to interest me
