Have you tried a magnesium supplement? I find that as I age I need magnesium everyday for my mood and to keep my muscles relaxed. I take both magnesium and calcium. A good chelated form of magnesium such as Magnesium malate, magnesium glycinate, and magnesium taurate are all good forms. Stay away from the magnesium oxide and magnesium citrate laxatives that are typically found in the drug stores as these are not very effective.
Another good possibility is a sports supplement called "zma" that combines zinc and magnesium aspartate, both in good absorbable forms, along with a little bit of vitamin b6. Very calming for the nerves and settling. You can probably find this in your local sports supplement shop. I buy my stuff from Amazon.
