New Gun - Wildcat Compact

Just received my new FX Wildcat Compact today. Couple first impression comments.

1. Kuiu Vias hydrodip is looks wicked nice.
2. As a left hand shooter, the cold steel, non-existent cheek piece blows. Looking into custom options for LH cheek piece from UK.
3. Moderator (not shown) is just a hollow tube...what? No baffles, no felt, nothing. I guess less is more? Prob will need to replace with a DonnyFL Tatsu.
4. Might go with a Discovery VT-3 3-12x44 scope to keep things light and compact. The photo shows a 4-12 BSA.
5. Looking forward to slinging some lead this spring. Still -20F outside where I call home.

yes the hollow tube does work well but I went with the Ronin to keep it really quiet great looking gun fore sure keep us posted on you how it shoots ps clean the barrel

Ok so this might be a silly question, but do I need to remove the barrell to clean it? It doesn’t seem like there is enough room at the breech end to get my patch worm through.

I removed mine when I first got it and cleaned to barrel.

cool beans.. I too just received the wildcat last night in .22 synthetic and right now I have the SWFA 12x44 on it and soon to be replace with a discovery VT-T 4.5-18X44 SFVF FFP and ordered the DonnyFL Tatsu for it.

I love my Compact and replaced the mod with a Donny KOI. Tried to get an X barrel for it but gave up after months of waiting. Congrats on a great gun, I have taken game with my compact out to 114yards on woodchucks with sudden death.

I normally pull just the liner to clean, put lately I've just been cleaning with two dry patches using my custom pull-through.

yes just pull the liner out easiest gun to clean by far mine seems to like a cleaner barrel iv noticed I do use the orings on the liner as I'm sure some are not ill always pull the liner out as there are o rings in there so if you pull liner out no chances in hitting the o rings I think its just safer
