New Glass for my Old Trusty Daystate MK4is

With the winter and Covid having me living in the basement lately I been adding quite a few new rifles and scopes but this morning I pulled out my MK4is and mounted and sighted in a new Athlon Helos BTR 6-24-50. After a few shots to get it on point I decided to shoot string of shots to see how the gun is shooting compared to some of the newer rifles I have been shooting. Plus I just wanted to try out the new hand pump that showed up. Shot 75 shots, three in each hole in below target, at 15 yds (in basement) with .22 Hades 15.89 g and must say I still love this rifle, 75 shots started at 230 bar and finished at 126 bar using the Per 2 setting, can't wait to get outside and stretch it out.

I have been really wanting to add another new rifle, either a Daystate Red Wolf, Delta Wolf, FX Impact or something along those lines but really wondering if they will out shoot this. I do most of my shooting at 50 yds or less.

Millersbackyardshooting I don't mean to hijack your thread, but I do have a question about your MK4. Is your quiet or do you need to use an LDC? I have one in .177 and it barks quite a bit. Nothing I do in the way of LDC's seems to quiet it down. Even with a Donny on it, it isn't backyard friendly. I have done the tissue over the breach test and yes, there is a puff of air there. I have plenty of the o-rings so I can change those out at anytime. I'm just wondering if there are any o-rings on the barrel at the breach block which can be checked. Sorry for being so long-winded. Thanks for your time.

Keith

Beautiful gun by-the-way!

Keith, mine does have the Daystate Air Stream Moderator on it, it's been on since new so I can not speak to the difference it makes. To me it is fairly quite I shot it indoors and my wife can't hear it upstairs. Mine measures 77db. I just shot it to compare against my other rifles and shooting it, it is the quietest of the bunch (even more than what the readings seem to say. I had the meter about 2' in front of muzzle so maybe it's quieter at the shooting position.

Edgun R5M with the BAT moderator is measuring 81db with a .25 cal at 970 fps, it's noticeably quieter than that for sure

.177 HW97 Black line that is 79db

.22 TX200 is 78 db
