New FX Wildcat

Just got back from AOA with my new FX Wildcat .22. in the synthetic. I put 3 sections of FX moderator on it and it's just fine for backyard shooting. I figured that I could add more if necessary, but frankly I don't see the need. I'm shooting at about 28 yards and so far it's really grouping well, pretty much just one ragged hole. Merry Christmas to me...

By the way, there was a thread a while back about whether AOA cleaned the barrels before testing and sending out the rifles. I asked Jared today before he took mine in the back to test and zero the scope. He said that they will only if the gun doesn't fire correctly , but otherwise they do not clean them.

"Hynzie"did it come with a case ,word is a case will be included at some point ,,inho i would pay the extra $$$ for a nice custom cut hard labled case ,,i dont get y we dont get one with each high price rig pisses me off
No case, but I'm not complaining I was able to make a good deal on it. I agree though, a hard case would be a nice perk.

I'm really enjoying my WC. Mine is .25 and is pretty near a lazer. And it is very close in accuracy to my Crown. But the WC is much quieter and easier to heft around.

It would be nice if it came with a case. I purchased a case because I don't want to leave them just standing around. I feel they need to be protected when not in use and a good case does it for me.
Something else I'd like to see is maybe a couple of the most often replaced o-rings to come along as well.

"sirk"what would you improve then? I am sure it is worth feeding back
A larger magazine would be nice and there is no indication when you've shot the last pellet.
The location of the safety is a bit odd I think. The fire mode on the safety is the forward position so it might accidentally get set to fire when shouldered if you are wearing a heavy coat. Having to pull it back to fire and push forward to safe seems like a better way to go.
The trigger adjustment requires removing the stock, but how often do you adjust the trigger.
I like the weight and balance when shouldered, but the gun feels top heavy when raising it with one hand.
Lastly, the scope rail seems a bit longer than necessary so even a 44mm scope requires high mounts to clear the front portion.
As I said, they're minor, and outweighed by the positives. I'm a happy buyer...

I was interested to hear that you felt it was a bit top heavy. That is the one of the things about the WC I had to teach myself. Even when I have it sitting on the bag front rest and the small bag back rest, I have to be careful because it can topple over out of the rests. Doesn't happen with the bi-pod of course, but still just one of those things about this gun. But all in all, one of my very favorite guns I've ever owned. Fits in my top 3 for sure.

I was thinking about buying a wildcat I have a Benjamin maurder which was pretty quiet sounded like a pneumatic nail gun i then bought a moderator off of ebay and with it its noticeable quieter i like it but I have the money and want the wildcat but whats the sound difference once you add the baffles that my only worry. Any comments ? Theres an iphone decibel app I am going to download it tomorrow and see what the decibel reading is .

My first PCP was a Hatsan Bullboss .25 about 10 months ago, which fit the bill for awhile but had always had my eye on the Wildcat. After seeing Steves review on the Wildcat I placed the order the next day in .25.
This gun is nothing short of amazing. Fill it up to 230 Bar ( a 74 cuft 4500 psi tank was part of the same order ),and shoot down to 150 and repeat. Never a hiccup never an issue,,,,complete trouble free fun!!!!!!.
Shoots the JSB King, King Heavy and the MKII, into a ragged hole at 50 yds and right around 1" @ 100 all day long. Whisper quiet with a Donny FL Sumo doing the suppression duties, ( was actually quiet enough for me where I shoot without the Sumo, but I just love the way it looks on the gun ). Anyone that is running the Sumo can attest to the fact that the pellet cracking the squirrels skull is louder than the gun itself.
Now its time to figure out whats next,,,,,,,
thinking streamline currently.
Congrats Hawkeye,,,,enjoy that beautiful piece,,,,,Not sure if I missed the scope selection,,,,,what did you put on it for glass????

The scope was a free FX 3-12 X 44. It's okay, maybe an Aztec in the future but since I've bought 3 guns and a compressor since Septemeber I don't want to push my luck with a new scope just yet. As for the WC, I am stoked. Took out a little pest with it earlier tonight at about 35 yards, I heard "whack" when the pellet hit and down he went.
