I have been having issues with FX hybrids laying down sideways using the plastic side-shot magazine that came with my Impact.. I don't know if I received a bad magazine or not, but I have seen others reporting the same issue and others saying they have not had issues, Maybe there was just a bad batch of them. I haven't found where FX has addressed this issue in the forums, or anywhere else. I have been having to hand feed the slugs because of this.
Well not anymore thanks to one of our members here on AGN !!! Orion is the member (Sorry, I don't know his name). I saw him post in the classifieds here an insert he was making that matched the original metal Side-Shot magazines that didn't have this issue. This has resolved my issues when using FX slugs.
I didn't want to say anything about this new insert until I ran it through its paces. Well, I have done that now and am letting others know that there is a rainbow at the end finally thanks to Orion. This new insert is also plastic, but is well made. I also tested it with JSB MKIIs and had no issues with pellets.
The only digs to talk about is the fact that it drops the total count by two. 28 shots down to 26. in .25 cal. No loss in shot count on the .30 cal. The other minor one is that this insert doesn't work so well now with my FieldPro speed loaders, but still kinda does, too. I believe there is a speed loader for the metal mags that would completely resolve this.
I am very pleased with this low cost insert that saved me a bunch of coin over gambling on buying another plastic FX Side-shot magazine. Thank you Orion!
I did get wind that he was opening up some kind of web store or something coming up with lots of neat offerings for our guns. I am looking forward to seeing that.
