New EDgun xx... unboxing fun!

It’s a .25 standard

out of the box shooting 880 FPS with the 34gr JSB/EDgun pellet.

initial thoughts... it’s pretty impressive. One thing that stands out is how quiet it is. The hammer spring is loud as it’s in your ear, but the noise doesn’t seem to travel, and sounds nothing like any kind of gun. Ed has some crazy engineering in his baffle and moderator design... insane how quiet it is given 60 ft/lbs

my plan is to tune this way down. I’m going to turn it to about 18-20 ft/lbs. I’ll leave the reg where it is (I think it’s 130) and just use clicks and a rezero to go from backyard pesting to whatever else demands 60 ft/lbs?!?

One question, just curious: if you're looking at 20ft.lbs. why not a .22? Less air and cheaper ammo. Killer rifle, btw. Love the stock.

it's a valid point... I think $ wise, you're splitting hairs, but I get where you're coming from. I choose the larger cal for a few reasons...

1) I've found the larger projectiles to be way more consistent, quiet, and devastating at the lower FPS. I've shot the Leshiy for awhile at 530 FPS with the MK2's, and it's pellet on pellet and quiet as all hell.

2) with NV, the larger pellet can easily be traced on film. I record a lot for the channel and site, and I think it's cool to see the pellet track. I do this shooting 60 Frames Per Second too... soon the ATN 4K will support 120. Most of those setups you see Ted and Matt role are like 1000 frames per second... which is insane. This is a cheap alternative, and works for my purposes.

3) I run the Leshiy now in .177 sub 12 (actually more like 14ft/lbs) for all day shooting and pest birds and/or chipmunks. With the added air cylinder I get well over a 100 shots. I have the EDgun Veles .22 for dispatching and ret dot fun. Then the R5M will be my dedicated .25 setup. I like each one to have a purpose (spend justification more than anything).
