New digital gauges!

Hey guys. I just wanted to give a little heads up, a teaser so to speak. I have been testing some new digital gauges for the past few weeks. They are made by a new company and will start selling them in about three weeks. At that time, I’ll share all the specifics and finer details.

Today I just wanted to give you a brief overview and share a couple pictures. The gauges are built on an analog to digital converter for repeatable, reliable and very accurate measurements. First and foremost, the gauges are accurate, very accurate within .5psi. Also very important and super cool is that the gauges are rechargeable. They plug in to a USB and the others end is magnetic, attaching to front of the gauge to charge it. There are 3 power modes: Sleep - 300 days/standby, The second is on, with screen off. The screen will turn on when touched or the gun is shot. Will stay on 18 hours in this mode. The third option is screen always on. I haven’t tested the battery run time in this mode yet. The gauges are also waterproof, :30min @ .5 meter and have a bunch of great features including...the gun’s pressure, shots remaining, average air consumption, shot count, and ambient temperature. After you’ve finished a shot string or are done for the day, you can clear the data(shot count, shots remaining, air consumption, average consumption, etc. It will not clear the start up menu settings though. The screen can be rotated up to 180 degrees so it’s always facing the right direction for ease of use. Another handy feature. The OLED screen measures .5” in diameter. They will be available in brass/stainless and in the following sizes to fit most gun’s; 1/8”BSPP male, 1/8”NPT, M10*1.0 male and M8*1.0 male. These gauges are going to retail for only $99.99. Money well spent and very much worth it in my opinion!

I have no affiliation with this company at all other than that I was asked to test their gauges, use them hard and then to give them the results of my testing and share my honest opinion and review on AGN and social media. There are 25-30 other people worldwide doing the same. I was given these gauges at no cost but I assured the company that I was going to give an honest review...Good or bad! I will not give a good review if the gauges didn’t perform as intended.

I will share the name of the company, contact information, website and other details a couple days before they are available for retail purchase. It’s not a big secret or anything. They are just extremely busy right now trying to get everything ready for the products release. I just don’t want people to bombard them with questions, pre-orders and stuff like that and they agreed.

So far, in 3-4 weeks of testing, these gauges have been flawless. Both reading my regulated pressure and my bottle pressure. They are very accurate and extremely easy to use. They charge fast and seem to hold a charge forever. The OLED screen is easy to see, even at extreme angles, which will be awesome for people using them on the end of air cylinders. You won’t have to hang your head over the muzzle to read the pressure in the cylinder.

That’s all for now. I hope I got at least a few of you excited about these new gauges until I share the rest of the details. I’ve never had digital gauges before, to me they’re a game changer. Accuracy within .5psi, rechargeable, shots remaining, consumption per shot, and being able to dial in my regulator so accurately, amongst other things!!! I’m going to put these on all of our gun’s!

Have a great evening!

STOTI

Hey guys, these were the responses to your questions a while ago. I typed them out on Word and every time I tried to post them on AGN I got a response that said, "cannot post your response at this time"??? I don't know what was going on, I got the pictures of the charger and charger connection to show up, just not my response I typed on Word. Anyway, I finally got it to work so here are the answers to your questions...

Vinny -- The whole gauge, OLED display and everything is waterproof, no cover is needed. There are contacts for charging, I'm not sure how it's done, but they have waterproofed it. The magnets in the charger are strong. When you put the gauge and charger in close proximity, they connect, center themselves to each other and start charging automatically. It's pretty cool and eliminates one of the shortcomings of other digital gauges that have to be taken apart in order to change tha batteries.

Wimpanzee -- When the gauge is attached to the plenum of my FX for example, the gauge is pretty limited in what it can do. It is very accurate, which I like a lot for knowing my regulator pressure, but you really benefit from having the gauge attached to your gun's cylinder or tank. This is where you can take advantage of all of the features like shot count, shots remaining, and air consumption per shot, etc. In reality, most people buying these gauges will just purchase one gauge for the gun's tank pressure and the features I just mentioned. Like I said, I have nothing to do with the company and certainly don't have nearly the information they do when it comes to the gauges specifications. My intention here, after speaking to the people that make the gauge, was to just give a sneak peak of a product that will be available in a few weeks.

Keone -- How are you bud? All good over there in Hog Heaven? I have never used the EDMU from ED Gun. I have definitely heard of them, seen them being used and watched plenty of reviews about them. I have heard most of the pros and cons but since I have never used it myself, I cannot give any kind of comparison at all. Even the new gauges have only been in my psession for a few weeks, so I have a lot more to learn and test. Maybe all digital gauges are awesome, I don't know. I can tell you that these gauges are great and have worked absolutely flawlessly since I started testing them. I have compared the acuracy with a variety of other gauges I have and also have borrowed and these gauses are all accurate. All of the gauges I'm using to compare the accuracy go down to 1.0psi and all show these new gauges to be accurate. I believe these gauges are made in Asia but the company is headquartered in the USA. I have been dealing with one person, one of the partners who started the company. Because he and I have been communicating directly, I cannot speak as to the quality of customer service or the the service of the tech dept. I can tell you that I have been on their website and it is up and ready for the release of this and other new products. If there tech dept. treats their customers as well as I have been treated, which I believe they will, you have nothing to worry about. The gauge seems to be well designed and because the whole menu and function keys are navigated with three buttons, it is easy to use.

Centercut -- Did you see the question about 1/8" BSPP? Do you know the answer? I think 1/8"BSP and 1/8"BSPP are the same sized threads, except that one is straight and one is tapered. What guns use a 1/8BSPP?

I hope that answers some of your questions guys. Obviously, CC is testing these gauges too, he might have some other information or want to chime in too. Once the gauges are released, maybe sooner depending on what I'm told, I'll share the name of the company, the website address and other contact information. That will put you in contact with people that have a lot more information, are much more knowledgable that me on the subject. We just wanted to let you knowthat these gauges would be released in a few weeks and to share some of the features and functions.

Have a good evening! Stoti

Thanks Rob, I wasn't exactly sure and didn't want to give out bad information but I thought I had heard before, on multiple occasions, that although not the same, people do use them interchangably somehow. I was told by the man I've been dealing with that these gauges are being made for most all of the popular air guns on the market. I guess we'll see.

Thank you. Stoti

So if I understand well for Fx impact I should choose 1/8 NPT and is the same with with 1/8 BSP? I am trying to avoid any wrong size order overseas ....

NPT and BSPP/BSPT are not identical. Straight threads I.e. BSPP, G (DIN), SAE use a sealing ring between the flat of the mating surface and the body of the fitting. The threaded portion of the fitting only pulls the two surfaces together. Tapered threads I.e. BSPT, NPT seal by nature of the interference between the tapers on the male and female portions of the joint. There is usually a sealing compound added to the threads I.e. liquid pipe dope or Teflon tape for a compete seal.
