New design AEA Pellets update & comparison to old design

Morning yo all,
As you all know it, or not, AEA changed pellet design, I finally got my hands on batch of new pellets and I had old pellet design as well, went out and tested, little bit confusing results, new design pellets not doing so good, maybe they need more speed or tune, but apples to apples bad news, here is the video I made comparing pellets 60, 80 and 100 yards.

nicely done , Thank You

Interesting information, I have like five tins of the original style in 45 gr. The inside of the skirt is tapered with a small flat circle in the middle. The .30 cal 45gr were sold out everywhere for a while. They may have different tooling now or it might be a different manufacturer making them? Thats too bad because they were an excellent pellet the way they were

Why do these companies always change things for the worst?

Wow - I'm so glad I came across this. I took my Sonoran out yesterday and my results were terrible compared with what it normally does. This now makes complete sense. I was shooting out of a cleaned and lubed tin which was a mix of the old style and the new style.

Now that I can clearly see there is a difference I am going to sort out all the old and new from the cleaned and lubed lot. I still have 3 new tins of the old style and now close to 20 tins of the new style after waiting nearly 4 months on a UA pre-order. I'm going to aim to do some 100 yard testing this weekend if I can find the time.

This type of crap is why there is no consistency in the airgun market. All the makers do it too JSB, NSA, Zans, now AEA who I had hoped would be a consistent source fo amazing ammo. Damn.......

dont know, but they do like to mess with out emotions...
Actually looking back at the video could you resort 100yds with the gun mostly full of air? Or maybe tethered? I have a slight hunch that they started falling apart at the last 3 groups of the old style at 100yds because of the lower pressure in air.

I am going back, clean liner and shoot 80 and 100 again.
My feeling is this, with wide open back of the pellet, pellet creates more drag and slows pellet down, even if you see my 60 yards, the new syle wae shooting lower already, probably worst BS, the problem just gets worst with the distance.
But I will reshoot 100 this weekend and I will try sending them faster, 900fps and maybe 920.
Stay tuned, stay subscribed.

How do we know which we ordered? What I found is the head size on the ones that don’t shoot well are <7.64mm. The older ones that shot well were all 7.65 and 7.66mm. But the tins look the same and you can’t tell the difference.
Very sad…. Faster makes no difference.
I didn’t know the 45s were having the same issues as the 50.5. I guess it you’re going to mess something up, go big or go home.
