New Crosman barrel smaller diameter?

I have a .22 Gen 1 Marauder. Decided to try out one of Crosman’s new .22 barrels to see if accuracy would improve. The barrel is smaller in diameter. What a bummer. The air stripper is loose and there is play in the receiver. Just a heads up for anyone wanting to try a new .22 Crosman barrel in their Gen 1 Marauder.

Going to call Crosman tomorrow to confirm diameter.

.177 & .22 should be 7/16" ( @ .437" ) tho they are generally @ .003 -.005" under that to fit an exact 7/16" / .437" hole in the receiver.

The choke on the newer barrels must be tighter. First picture is the new barrel, one attached to the gun is the old style. That’s why the old air stripper won’t fit. The play in the receiver is the same for both barrels.

I just wrapped a few turns of Teflon tape around the end of the barrel so the air stripper fits snug. We’ll see if accuracy improves with the new Crosman barrel.

Sleeve it with a plastic bag like you would a condom.

The barrel will self-center, then trim the excess.

You could have gotten yourself a LW version of the MROD.

I bought 2 for around $105 each shipped.

Installed one into a PROD, so now she's very accurate.

If the Teflon tape doesn't stay put for some reason, I have found that a turn or two of clear packing is a very stable way to shim slip on air strippers/shroud bushings.
