New Compact Impact .22

Just received this a couple of days ago. I had been thinking about one since they were introduced. Sold 2 rifles ( Bantam Sniper HR, Vulcan Tactic) over the last couple of months to fund the purchase. I have an Impact in .25 that I use a lot so I'm familiar with the gun and also a Compact Wildcat .22. both have been very reliable and accurate. I shoot a lot out of my garage at 30 yards and on Wednesdays at our Club Range out to 125 yards. I also am lucky to have a few places where I can shoot ground squirrels from 20 to 100 yards. This year my total was 252. One of my places is a goat ranch and most of the shots are from 20 -75 yards braced against a fence or corral or off of a tripod. I'll probably use this here as I walk around a lot carrying the rifle, bipod, and camping stool. I have a Discovery ED 4-16x50 FFP scope with FX Rings on it. My shots below were before I cleaned the barrel. did that today and it was pretty dirty.

Naturally as soon as I buy it the Maverick comes out. I'm sure I would have bought the Impact but it would have been nice to compare. I shoot left handed and it looks like the Maverick magazine really interferes with your cheek weld. Impact no problem.

That is the exact same rig I have, color and all. I was going to get rid of the Impact for my Leshiy 2, which arrived 2 weeks ago, but I am kept it and sold my Brocock Compatto and 2 scopes to pay for the Leshiy 2. Now I just need a new scope for it after I got rid of the Impacts Helix (ended up not being too impressed with it for the money) and funds are spent since I got the Leshiy 2, but the Leshiy is keeping me busy for now.

I have similar accuracy as you. The only thing I have found with the 500 mm barrel trying to push slugs past 45 ft/lbs really dropped the shot count down, if that is important to you, using the 300 cc bottle. If you stay on the lower regulator end you can push 40 ft/lbs plus and get 80 - 90 shots and not max out the hammer spring and regulator. And if your plan to use that Compact as I do (eventually) as a hunting rig/packing rig then 80-90 shots at 40 plus ft/lbs is plenty, IMHO.

Though I don’t want to be a hypocrite since I got the Leshiy 2 right when it is introduced, knowing FX’s record for new platforms I would say you are better off getting the Impact for now. And what I mean by the former, in the past from reading the strings over the last 6 months, it seems there are quite a few quality control / design issues when FX introduces a new platform, at least the complex ones like the Maverick.

Someone else correct me if I am wrong.

Good shooting and nice rig, I was between the impact compact and wildcat mk3. Then the maverick came out and was basically right between so I went for it. I will be happy if I can get decent(870-900) FPS out of the mav compact.

it will do more than that!

Nice, the only issue is I went 30cal. It will be the first 30 for me.
