New BroCock magazine question

Anyone have any experience with both the old and new BroCock magazines to make a comparison? Has the individual pellet slot alignments been improved, and the accuracy using the magazine? I went thru 4 of the old ones on a .177 Concept and the alignment was pretty bad on all of them. The slots progressively became less aligned as you advanced thru the magazine. A couple of the old magazines were significantly worse than the others, I assume showing an inconsistency in manufacturing tolerances. They were bad enough they shaved pellets leaving lead deposits after a long testing session. Accuracy was so bad using the magazines I returned the rifle. Hoping the new Daystate version of the magazines for the BroCock have fixed this because I do love their rifles...just not being stuck using a single shot tray if I wanted accuracy...

I had the same problem with my Sniper XR at first. The factory mag seemed to suck. So I bought a couple of CARM magazines. They work great, and I still mostly use them. But I took the factory mag apart, cleaned it and put it back together. Then I chamfered the exit hole (where it meets the breech) and it works WAY better now…….sorry, don’t know how good the new mags are. Logic would dictate that they’re improved, but who knows.

I had the old style magazine in my Sniper XR (.177) and it never gave me any issues at all. But that was a gun which I considered to have 'practical accuracy' for field work, but not quite the same bench-top precision as, for example, some of my Daystates.

I definitely did have some issues with the old style mags in the Daystates, where one repeatedly single-holed shots 1-5, but would have at least 2 flyers in shots 6-10. I returned it to AOA under warranty and they gave me a new mag which was better.

I only have the new style, flip-lid Daystate/Brocock magazine for my .22 cal Wolverine HP. I would consider its functioning to be 'better' than the old style magazines, but for the most precision at 50 yards plus I still get better results when I single load.

Thanks for the replies.

Darylm: I tried the CARM as well and that reduced the dispersion by half but still wasn't as good as single fed pellets.

Cworkman74: Good to hear. It's helped me make the decision to try again.

TMH: My .177 Pulsar and .25 Red Wolf are as accurate using the new style magazines as the single pellet tray, or at least more accurate then I am. Hoping that transfers to the new BroCocks.

I'm going to try again with a Ranger XR in .22 versus the .177 Concept XR I had previously. Maybe I should not compare the BroCock accuracy to my Red Wolf and Pulsar, but I think it had to be the magazine or magazine to breech interface because the Concept XR was as dead accurate as my Daystates using single pellet feeding. With the new magazines based on Daystate's engineering and tooling, I'm hoping the new magazines perform well and there's little lost accuracy penalty for using them this time.
