New Benjamin Gunnar

Just saw on pyramid air that they released the née Benjamin Gunnar, anybody else think that’s it’s just a Hatsan factor? Not interested in buying one just curious about if Hatsan makes it for them

Having owned several Kral's, many Hatsan's and Lot's on Crosman/ Benjamin's I'll take the Kral over the Hatsan and a Benjamin warranty over all..

Agreed.

Also, just like Cayden/Akela/Kratos, they may look and behave very similar to their Kral brethren, but they have different parts where it counts. Note the Kral "block" (or "drop block" as I've heard it referred to), is just like in a puncher, an "L" shape. The Benjamins are all a solid rectangle. This looks like it has the same block that's in the Cayden/Akela/Kratos, so it's not just a re-badged Jumbo. Likewise comparing Puncher Pro 500 vs. Kratos, very similar look, but actually virtually no parts interchange. As much as these look alike, they will not be the same rifle from a parts stand point unless Benjamin has begun a new relationship with Hatsan that none of us are aware of. Hatsan's block does look more like a Benjy Craftsman block...

All of these are trying to look like an impact, but are really just their regular sport rifle parts minus the wooden or synthetic stock. They are not semi bullpup, they do not have big plenums, they do not get the barrel lower down,. they only share the skeletonized look.

It resembles EVERY black bottle gun on the market because that’s what it is, a black bottle gun. They all “look“ similar. But it is it’s own thing, just like the Factor is not the same as the Dazzle and none of them are the same as a Dreamtac. Based on looks alone it looks more well thought out than the Factor or the Dazzle. The Factor and the Dazzle both look much more clunky to me and the Gunnar looks a lot more refined to me.
Saying it is a just a redesigned this or that might as well be applied to every bottle gun on the market.
A couple years ago Crosman did a focus group type thing and had a group of people fill out a questionnaire on what type airguns they would like to see the company focus on, what features they should have and what price point people would expect to see them offered at. I would expect a healthy number of forum members here participated in that survey as well. A short time later they brought out the Craftsman series and those rifles ticked the box of pretty much everything people said they wanted. The Gunnar is yet another offering that people said they had interest in (That’s a product I asked for on my questionnaire anyway). After seeing the quality of my Kratos and Cayden I am eagerly anticipating getting the Gunnar. I don’t think I’m going to be disappointed.

I have a Kratos, it has a L block. I have a Kral Bighorn and it is built much sturdier and made far better.

Both if mine are 3625 PSI fill guns, the Kratos was a 3000 psi fill gun, it is now regulated and has a 3625 psi TTunes bottle.

The Kral has been tweaked by Troy Hammer, the tight choke removed for my slugs, still has the same velocity and is a 80-85 FPE gun, depending on slug weight. The Kratos is ported and pushes Kings to 1025 fps when unregged.

The Kratos is a superbly accurate gun, but since I got the Bighorn, the Kratos stays regulated at 25 FPE. Regulating got rid of the bottle ping and made it far more efficient compared to using that silly power adjuster.

A Crosman engener who posts on another forum, states he was working on the Gunner before the Hatsan Factor was introduced.

I love the continuously variable transfer port adjuster on my Cayden and Akela. You can set your hammer spring to shoot your heaviest pellets at their preferred velocity (say 875fps with JSB 18.13) with the transfer port full open. Then, you can use the knob as a transfer port restrictor - to dial down velocity when you shoot lighter weight pellets (i.e. JSB 15.89) to get maximum accuracy. I’m primarily a target shooter and pellets only - so being able to easily tune pellet velocity is more important than power to me.

Not for $1000, I would spend a couple hundred more and look for a used maverick or impact

Couldn’t agree more!!! Now and days the competition is stiff even in the 600 dollar range so good luck trying to sell that for 1000 even with a good warranty! a regulator ain’t worth 400 bucks! It’s only 50 dollar less than a FX Dreamline classic or 200 less than a Dreamline tactical that is made in Sweden? You got to be kidding! The crosman gunner is a joke, should of priced it at $699!

even at 600 bucks I would take an AEA SS plus+ over the crosman gunner…….in fact one should show up at my door today.

also keep in mind Turkey currency dropped by 50%!!! Price of Turkey guns should reflect that!!!
