Hi @Boog, @JoeWayneRhea probably forgot more about scopes than I will ever know, but for pesting, I suggest you look for a ffp zoom in the 4-16x range, maybe slightly higher magnification depending on the distances you plan on shooting at. When scanning especially a low light, lower magnification helps as it gives you a larger field of view. When you found a target I am often in the 12-16x range when making the shot but very seldom more. Lots of pest also like dawn and dusk, and for that I find an illuminated reticle helpful to see the sub-tensions for hold-over and under.
