New AirMaks Katran LB. 25!

I got my Katran LB in yesterday! UA sent me a normal Long Bottle instead of the LB HP, but that's okay. This thing is awesome as it is. I spent a few hours mapping the velocities out and playing with light and heavy pellets. I had to feel-out the velocity screw; it is different. Steve from AEAC mentions this in his Compact review as well. I took my time and adjusted small; and everything went great.

I settled on MK2 Heavies at 870. It shot the 25.39s at 950 fps and had a really clean ES and SD with that, which amazed me. Decent accuracy inside 50. With the MK2s, it yielded 7fps ES and 2fps SD across a full magazine. Ironically enough, that's exactly how the Veteran I sold to get this was tuned.

It's way more hold-sensitive at 75 and 100 compared to the Veteran obviously because it's so light; but it's totally just as accurate! (8.8 lbs as shown) Im going to add some forend weights and the laminate stock option in blue. It will minimize most of this movement.

The finish is pretty good. I don't have any complaints whatsoever. Like a true AR finish. 👍

I'm getting about 50 or 60 shots between fills. (250 bar fill).. Im sure it could get more if i filled it all the way. The action and trigger are really sweet. Forgot to mention that. It feels well built and put together. I shoot a lot. Time will tell how reliable it is. I'm loving it so far. I'm glad i have something to accessorize now.

I like their magazines, too. And their triggers as well.

I had a .25 cal Long, and never saw the need to go any more HP than that gun put out. But I'm a pellet shooter. Once you figure out the hold it likes best, it is darned accurate at out to the 100 yards I shot mine.

I'm 50:50 on their bag rider. It is pretty nicely priced and does help some, but it attaches to the plastic butt plate, so you can never get it really solid feeling.

Nice guns overall. Congrats.

I figured the bag rider/stock would be flexy after watching AEACs hands on review of the compact. Took that into consideration immediately. I really like the Tilly's or the AirMaks blue laminate stock. That and a bipod oughta tighten things up. Pellets are fantastic for the work that I need to get done as well. I'd love to venture into the slug world, but there are so many awesome pellet guns out there to buy first. Ha.
