New .25 FX Wildcat, hole in air tube-WTF!?

Received my .25 FX Wildcat yesterday evening and was beyond excited. When I went to fill it with air this morning I heard a loud hissing noise and found what appears to be a hole in the air tube! I'm perplexed as the box appeared fine and this looks like a pretty significant hole. Not sure what could have happened but it looks like its back to Airguns of Arizona! Curious to what might have caused this to happen. Any thoughts?

I thought these were checked out before they left. That is strange, I don't see how that could have happened without damage to the box. I hate it for you, that would be a bummer for sure!

Not sure what could have happened...it was odd that I received a .22 Wildcat test target though.

Meaning that the regulator has a problem?

I bet your right....

Most guns have the regulator in the tube. And it looks about the right spot.

There is normally a oring on either side of that hole around the regulator and it allows the regulator to vent.

That is so that the spring stack doesn't hydro lock. A simple breather.



Most likely a simple o'ring change out. Doubt there is an issue with the regulator itself.

If it is a vent for the regulator the ring must be shot as air hisses out when trying to fill.

No holes or hissing on mine. Where exactly is it located?
I don't want to ratte anyones cage so it's important I know where that hole is so I can confirm.

Towards the back near cocking linkage where the writing is on the air tube.. You can see approx. in the pics above.

I don't have any writing on the air tube that shows. Did you remove the stock?
The only hole I see is where the barrel begins right after the block.(on the barrel, not the air tube).
The hissing is not supposed to be there...

Depending on the orientation of the tube the hole could be hidden by the stock....

The tube probably are used on other guns.... so the hole would get drilled last... that maybe why it looks rough


But then again with out seeing it first hand it's all speculation .

has to be a reg vent hole. There is maybe 3 possible o-rings/seals that would allow air to vent from that hole, and it is a simple fix. Two external on the reg, and one internal to the reg - Would only take one to have a tiny nick to allow the leak. Contact AoA, and I am sure they will square you away, right quickly.
