Just dig a pit put spikes in it and cover pit with a old bed sheet and sprinkle leaves and corn over the top and wait for the deer to fall in then cut it’s throat to put it out of its misery is necessary.

I feel nobody should go into the woods with any weapon with no skill and a cheap weapon. Not ethical by ant stretch of the imagination. I have seen it and I abhor it. Buy the best weapon you can and then practice, practice and practice some more. You will be shooting at a living animal that wants to live as bad as you. Make sure your equipment and you are up to the task before you ever take a shot at a living animal.

Here in Pa the cheap way would be to travel the highways and byways and pick up some fresh road kill.
Joking a side there have to be way more killed on the road then by hunting.
Cheap? By yourself a rusty old single barrel shot gun and a box of slugs . Archery stuff is expensive as are crossbows.

Especially in PA. I read a story where Pennsylvania has the highest amount of deer killed by vehicles then any other state. Here in NorCal we get our share.
