Needing Help

Hello All
I purchased my dad a air rifle about 2 years ago he loves it for squirrels, Yesterday he called me saying that something have broken on that air rifle he lives in Alabama and I'm in Florida about 8 hrs away. So I told him to send me pictures so he did of course I know nothing about air rifle and nor sure if there's a fix or just buy him a new rifle, Its a Umarex rifle from the pictures looks like a spring had popped out from some where here's a few pic he sent me. Is this something that can be fixed and where should I look for parts to help him get it fixed .Thanks

@jtampasaint3 Welcome to AGN. Which Umarex model and caliber is your dad's rifle? Can you upload photos of where the problematic area (in the close-up photos) is in relation to the rest of the gun so that someone in-the-know can have an easier time helping to diagnose the problem?

Appears to be missing the ball catch which holds the breach closed. I would contact the manufacturer and inquire as to the possibility of repair. They may take care of you.

Save yourself time and aggravation. Get him a new gun. If he enjoyed the heck out of that one, the expense of a new one will be worth it. Some airgun manufacturers don’t have a good reputation for repair.

Its call a detent ball and it popped out,I never seen that before?Find a ball bearing that will just fit in the hole.Have some one push it in then take a punch and pin it back in,Take it in to a motorcycle shop and bring a 12 pack with ya and they will fix it"

i appears that the spring ball setup was stacked in place and the damage appears to be bad enough that it would be hard to repair without changing the barrel and barrel block as a unit

Umarex definitely just buy a new rifle.

Another vote for replacing, not worth the time. Perhaps a Gamo with a Charle DeTuna trigger job if trying for a decent budget rifle. Good Luck!
