My 7 year old has proven that he is ready to start small game hunting with Dad. While I have been taking him for awhile now, he has just been carrying his Diana 70 and I "let him put the finishing shot on squirrels and pest birds".
The 70 fits him almost perfectly at 10" LOP, but far too underpowered for him to hunt with.
The only options for an affordable rifle that I don't mind cutting up the stock to fit him is a Discovery or possibly a Prod. Is their any other guns that are lightweight, enough power for small game at close distance, and a short LOP or atleast a stock that can be easily shortened?
I had thought about buying a disco stock to put on one of my Maximus rifles, but Crosman claims a Disco stock will not fit a Maximus. Does anyone know this to be fact or is it possible to inlet one to fit a Maximus?
