NEED SOME HELP!

Anybody know of a good way to refinish a stock for cheap? Or anyone here willing to refinish my stock for me? I’ll pay. I’ve already tried boiled linseed oil. My TX200 has 2 marks on the stock. It has become discolored.

Unless I miss my guess, that stock is Beech and you can't just strip, sand, stain and Tru-oil Beech. Beech has a nasty habit of blotching when you stain it unless you use a pre-stain conditioner first.

If you have a local gun shop, maybe ask them to recommend someone they know is very good at refinishing and give them a call to see what they say if it's not something you're willing to try yourself.

May not do any good since you've already oiled it but I would have tried some wood dye. Whether alcohol or water-based you can play with the color even after it's on the wood by adding another coat or "diluting" what has already been applied. Then touch up with oil. Might not be "perfect" but might have been able to get it close without a full refinish. If it's not really a dent, some "precision" sanding with very fine paper might still open up the grain a bit.

Just another idea...
