Hello all, new member here.
I have shot bbs/pellets many years. Started with a slingshot, then a Red Ryder ,then some early Crossmans ,and Gamos.
Also RF 22s and high power CF rifles and shotguns.
If I had ever got on Dennis's list I'd have a Quackenbush now, no luck, yet.
I need to get rid of woodchucks too close to use cartridge guns.
I've shot really good shooting springers. I see as the main reason most see them as inaccurate: recoil/no practice/ammo. I can can do <2" at 35 yds with a Gamo 177, off hand.
My CF rifles < a dime at 200 yds on a sand bag (.222 rem, 06, 300 win mag).
Strange springer recoil is not an issue. It took me a while to get used to springers/strange recoil, even after centerfires/shotguns. Practice is your friend
Same as with a 12ga slug or 300 Win Mag just hard kicks. M14/M1A have a strange recoil sort of like a springer. A match M1A will do < MOA but it takes some practice.
I am looking for a 25 cal springer/gas piston, that will do woodchucks to ~30 yds, small stuff to ~50 yds. Limited to $300-400 right now, good opens are O.K., I don't really need a scope but a package is a plus. I can can hit beer cans at 100yds with my Browning 22 LR w/opens.
Thinking Benjamin Trail XP NP. But I have heard them denigrated? Bad gun or bad shooters?
Suggestions?/ All are welcome
