Need help with my bullboss guys

Hey guys I sold this gun and one week after the guy had it he wanted a refund because the gun wouldn't shoot. It was shooting when I sold it, however it seemed to be using excessive air. Anyways I have no idea what he did to it but it indeed will not shoot. The valve seems to be locked when its got more than 500 psi. I also took the valve out of the tube and dismantled it and it looks like the valve stem/poppet is slightly bent. I backed the back side of the valve out a little to decrease valve spring pressure. I can open it by hand when its not aired up or not in the gun. The next thing to do is do a complete tear down. The only problem is I'm a little intimidated mostly because I haven't ever had this one open. Ive had my armada and marauder all tore down several times this is just a different animal that's all. If anyone has had something like this happen please let me know and please tell me what you did to fix it. I still want to sell this thing but I'd rather sell a working gun not a non working parts gun. Thanks guys

I have the exploded view if that can help you.

Here it is.

That gun is easily taken apart. Don't be afraid, the one thing you should be careful with that I found, were the barrel o-ring in the breech. Mine got sliced up when removing the barrel. One good thing I did was to de bur and aligned all the air passages when I had it open and it helped a lot.
Have you tried to activate the valve with the pressure removal tool when the tube is full? It should be really easy to open and close.
Can the stem move easily in the valve body if you just set it in without spring if you have it taken apart? does it spin freely too?
I would review all the o-ring at the same time.
Check the hammer movement and if the anti-double feed (part 2620) isn't put backward. review the exploded view. If you put it backward, it can block your hammer from moving freely and scar the probe.

I hope that can help

Thank you, I'm going to tear it down today and go through everything. I'll be sure to pay close attention to the anti double feed part. I'm sure its something like this causing it not to operate. It was producing over 50 fpe when I sold it. I'll keep you guys posted. I also figured out that he kept most of the allen wrenches and the one with the screw driver handle. I think it was red in color. I hope that wasn't some specialty tool I will need to have at some point.

The valve stem does rotate pretty easily once I depressurized the tube. Is there supposed to be an o-ring on the backside of the valve past the threads on the outside part where it screws into the gun? I never removed it when I owned it and when I removed it yesterday it came out on the valve part itself. It looks like he didn't use the proper size o-ring for 2318 and it came out on the tube itself also does the valve part have 2 little O-rings or just the one? The schematic looks like theres 2 and what he sent back has only 1 on it. Could he have swapped it out with another model that he was having problems with? I'm just trying to think of every scenario with this guy. I feel like he's trying to pull a fast one on me. Thanks for your help.

I straightened the pin. The double load piece was all burred up so I cleaned it up and applied a drop of high temp synthetic gun oil on it. I have it all back together and working on filling it back up. Hand pumping stinks for the big 0 lol. It sounds different now when I pull the trigger. I think that part was causing it to not fire properly. What size o-ring is the big one on the outside where it screws into the gun? The one that was on it looks pretty rough. Boy this gun is way more intricate than my benjamins lol. Was nervous more than once this morning. Took some breaks and calmed down then went back to it. I really appreciate you chiming in and helping me. Its kind of reassuring knowing that there is a source of info I can ask questions. Thanks again

Can’t help with the valve work, but I can tell you how to adjust the hammer.

You’ll need a 4mm hex key or wrench. A long one. Even long ones in most normal sets will be too short. You’ll need a good grip for torque. I ordered one that was just shy of 10 inches with a good grip.

You insert the 4mm in the rear just like on a Marauder. The directions are opposite of the Marauder. Counter clockwise tightens and makes more powerful. Clockwise loosens and makes weaker.

You’ll find that the hammer spins freely. You have to hold it in place by inserting an allen wrench or other stiff tool into a small hole you can access by pulling the cocking hammer half way without cocking it.

I agree the Bullboss is more intimidating than a Marauder. Mostly due to the cocking and indexing mechanism.

Do research any hammer debounce device it may have. I have read info that leads me to believe they may be present in the Bullboss and malfunction sometimes. Also check for a pellet somewhere in the indexing mechanisms. I have lost .22 pellets behind the faceplate on the left side of the breech that jammed things up.
