Need help with Hill EC 3000

Hello I recently purchased a used Hill EC 3000 Compressor . It is blowing oil out of the stone filter on the bottom of the cylinder facing the motor . Can anyone tell me what causes this and how to stop it ?

If I am understanding you correctly, this is the outlet filter with pressure gage attached, bleed screw, burst disk and Quick connect? Left side facing crankcase? If so, at what point is it leaking?

My unit is not the newer EVO . the stone filter that you can see in the photo is blowing out the oil spray . Thanks for looking

Ok. The gold color item is a sintered bronze filter/breather. My 1st move would be to remove it/clean/dry and blow it out with shop air compressor and reinstall and try it for awhile. ( assuming it still builds sufficient pressure)You may have leaking seals. Good luck and let us know what you find.

No, I fill it to the red dot on the check window

It is a two stage so that means that it pumps on both the up and the down stroke of the piston .For air to be forced out of the stone filter instead of being sucked in make me think that one of the valves is not opening enough and the excessive pressure is forcing air out of the filter I have an email out to Hill so hopefully they will be able to tell me what it needs to remedy

I got in touch with Hill . It turned out to be an oil control ring on the piston . They are sending me one and I will swap it out myself .
