Need help with a Benjamin 137

Gentlemen,

I have a friend who recently purchased a Benjamin 137 Air pistol with the tootsie role cocking lever, however, it did not hold air.

A neighbor of his had some limited experience and parts for this gun. They were able to get gun to hold air with new seals, but the gun now with several pumps of air, will not fire the air when the trigger is pulled. Also noted is the caulking probe is extremely sloppy and he feels this may be leading to the problem of not releasing the air when trigger is pulled, now rendering the gun unusable and locked full of air!

Does anyone here have an answer or solution to this situation? How does one empty the existing air if gun can't be fired? Any help would be much appreciated. Personally I know nothing of these pistols and can offer no help for my buddy, but love to have a solution to provide to him! I would love to have this turn into a positive experience for him and keeping him interested in shooting airguns!

Very much looking forward to hearing back from you guys!

Kindest regards,
Mike

FIRST SAY A PRAYER... Pull back that bolt with a firm hard tug and 2x more even much harder as though you're gonna break it. Close that bolt home. Press the SAFETY BUTTON TO THE "OFF-FIRE" POSITION BACK AND FOURTH COUPLE TIMES IF YOU HAVE TO THEN FIRE! If that doesn't work you need to remove the grip and I can instruct you further after you take a picture what's exposed once you remove the grip frame. GOOD LUCK.

WHEN YOU PRESS THAT TRIGGER SCREAM IT!!! FIRE!!!

JW and yo, thank you for responding, for your suggestions and willingness to help. Always a great feeling knowing we have a place to come too for help and on occasions be the helper. Cheers

Today was a good day regarding the Benji 137. We found the problem and we resolved the issue! After spending time on the internet, and exhausting some avenues, I came across a schematic/drawing that convinced us it was safe to proceed in a tear down to empty the air reservoue and to solve the issue.

His gun was not able to cook due to missing probe part and the sloppy probe was was also missing other parts. Good carma or possibly just great timing as the person who sold my buddy the gun in the first place stopped by and delivered complete paper work and other items for the gun. And wouldn't you know the one part that was missing was found amongst the items and my buddy was able to find a spring and ball bearing in his misc tin of parts. He now has a working 137 and in no time was putting out some pretty good groups.

The fix was an easy fix but when you have a gun you know nothing about with a full chamber of air you don't know how to exhaust one moves precautiously slow, but how rewarding in the end when all goes well.

This turned out to be a great day for both of us! Thanks again gentlemen.
