Need help...MK3 battery charging

So I just received a new battery from AOA for my MK3. Question: do I need to charge it first before I begin using the gun? Do I charge with the gun turned 'OFF'..?

Yes, cycle the battery a few times to condition it if charger allows it ? ... Or just charge it before use.

Yes charging is done with rifle OFF.
