Need help: Impact superior standar vs heavy JSB 18.13g or RD 25.39g

Hello, I am very excited about the BR50 (50 meters here), I have been practicing it for two years and have had positive but not consistent results.
Now I have a FX Impact compact MK2 with pp with three barrel options.
500 mm superior standard, 600 mm superior standard and 500 mm superior heavy, in pellets JSB of 18.13g and RD of 25.39g.

My question is which one do I use and at what speed? I have tried the superior standard of 500mm with the RD 25.39g at 850 fps with good results, but it is not consistent.
What should be my starting point?

18’s might work fine in perfect windless conditions but as the wind picks up they can be blown off course further than a heavier pellet with a higher BC. You might try working your way up in speed with the MRD’s from 850 to 950 in 20 FPS increments to see if you can find a sweet spot your rifle likes. You could also run some simulations in Streloc Pro to give a narrower window for optimal calculated accuracy?

igolfat, Thanks for your comment, first I'm going to try the 600mm barrel with the MRD's from 850 to 950 fps, it's a good idea!

Longer barrels are not necessarily more accurate but they do give you more flexibility to gain more velocity with the same amount of air behind the pellet. I am by no means an expert and you may get contradictory advice so take my suggestions with a grain of salt.

thank you, you gave me a good starting point, tomorrow I have all day to test the three barrels and the two types of pellets at different configurations.

Great results with the superior standar 600mm barrel and the JSB redesigned 25.39g!

Reg 140 bares, trigger 17 mm, FV 7 mm

std dev: 3.8

50 mts, WRABF target, .224 points plug, 242 points outdoor, with some wind. 965 fps RD 25.39g, Impact MK2 pp, 600mm superior std barrel

That’s a good card Jorge. The Wrabf is considerably harder than the N50. You would have probably scored a 248-249 on the N50.

Thanks Mike: just yesterday I read about N50 and I'm delighted. I find it super interesting. But we are quite rookies even though we have been competing for two years. I saw in another post that you were talking about flags, well we still don't use that. I place a cloth ribbon under my target to see the wind but nothing else.

Jorge....keep in mind that knowing the wind at the target is not very helpful. It’s too late to do anything. Knowing the wind before the target is what will help. If you only have one flag place it about 1/3 of the way to the target.

It's something I hadn't thought of.
I'm going to try that tomorrow.
There are many new things for me like sorting the pellets
