Need Advice

I have a 12 year old granddaughter who has joined me at the shooting bench for the last month or so. I let her shoot my wildcat 22 and my p15. 25. she is a Deadshot. She is interested in shooting and like I say , steady good improving shot . so I am going to have to find a gun that fits her. she's not a tall girl. So now I'm in betweet between a fortitude 22 and a S 200 air arms and I would entertain other options. I just need some education from someone who possibly been through this I don't want to throw away a bunch of money on something that doesn't stick and yet I want her to have a fair enough chance at getting good

Altaros announced the other day that they have confirmation from CZ Arms that they will stop producing PCPs. The AA 200 is the rebranded CZ 200. Not sure what it means for the AA version unless they (AA) bring it in house. Just something to be aware of. Excellent gun and definitely youth friendly when it comes to size and weight.. I was one of 2 people able to purchase the green one from Altaros, seems they have a couple more now.

Get her a Marauder Pistol, and install a retractable stock made by Lee545(I believe that’s his forum name). Light weight, accurate to 35 yards easy, and later on can be molded with aftermarket parts if desired. The other one is a Benjamin Discovery. I’ve never owned one, but followed the posts on it. Lightweight, a max fill of 2000 psi so if hand pumping is available it’s easy enough, and I know there’s aftermarket support for that gun, also.

Steve, it is good to see you on the forum. My 14 year old granddaughter is shooting my former Air Arms S510 .22, and as you have found out with your granddaughter, is deadly. I have never seen anyone as patient before executing the shot.

So I think an AA 200 would be fine.

Come up and shoot sometime.

Hi.

We use the T200 for the 4H kids at Riley. It is a great shooter on paper and seems to fit the smaller frame. From what I understand the S200 is a little higher powered (12 ft-lbs). Would be a great starter for the closer ranges. And this gun would be good for field target as well, just need to get the trajectory figured out.

Good luck, and good shooting...
