Need a small tank that can be filled with a cheap compressor

I recently got a gx portable pcp air compressor and it’s been working great but i’d love to have a small tank to take with me when out in the field. The scuba shop in my area only fills to 3000 psi so that’s not an option so if anyone knows of a small tank I could buy and fill with my compressor it would be greatly appreciated. I’m pretty new to the filling part of airguns because my previous ones I could fill with a normal 3000 psi scuba tank but that’s not the case with my taipan.

That looks pretty good and has everything i’d need which is nice but do you think my compressor could fill it very well? Also do you know how many fills that would give me roughly?

Depends on how low you shoot it and whether you pump it up before going out or not...I’d say 12-15 times is my guess before your psi is down to 3k. Others Veteran owners might know better

That one looks like almost 2.5x capacity as an Impact or Red Wolf or RAW bottle. $149? I would buy 2.

Volume capacity is exponential with size increases, even slight enlargements of a space. That being said, the smallest tank I know under the one I listed is a Ninja. I have heard mixed reviews from them. There is the USA made “Guppy” at ExpertHPA. You can also buy a handpump if you only need one top off (a pain to do it this way). Personally, I think most people find the smaller tanks listed above too small, and I tend to agree. Depending on the gun, you might get as little as 8 fills or so, especially if your air reservoir holds higher 4500psi. Heck, you might only get a couple fills depending on the tank size. If your tank is half the volume of the Guppy or the Omega, your psi will net somewhere well below the 4500psi, say between 0-4500 kinda in the middle, if you are filling from zero. That is why I don’t recommend the Ninja.

I looked into the guppy and it didn’t seem like a bad option but it might just be a bit too big, my compressor does great i’m just looking for something that when i’m on the mountains or out hunting praire dogs I can get just two or three fills out of. I really don’t need anything that will give me over 5 fills and I think anything that would might be hard for my compressor to fill.

What is your Max fill level? And what psi range is your working pressure usually? Like: example 3000-2000psi?

I hope this is the answer to your question but i’m my gun fills to 250 bar and I usually shoot it to about 140-150 bar.

Your compressor should be able to fill any size tank as long as you don't try to fill it in one go. Just fill it in stages and give the thing a rest to cool down in-between stages. Your pump won't know the difference between filling that way and topping your gun off, using the same amount of air.
