Need a recommendation on a new break barrel

If it's got to be new, I think you're on the right track with the HW95 in .22. As for a scope, I'd recommend the UTG 4-14x44 SWAT mil-dot. 30mm tube. Great scope, has side focus and everything.

However... your best bet is used. A tuned gun is going to be better than a new HW95, and already broken in. Even if its not tuned, but is well broken-in and is a claimed good shooter from a trusted seller....

It's hard to convince someone without experience buying used, but if you have a good honest seller, (and you can check their feedback, these days) they're better guns than new. You're also opened to options that are no longer available, or that wouldn't be available in your price range.

"Grumpytroll"I have dumb question is there a break barrel Springer that does not require using artillary hold another words shot like a regular airgun.
Thanks
Grumpy

The artillary hold is not "required" for any gun. It's whatever works best for you. I have a Diana 34 spring gun and do not use the artillary hold. I can hit inside the 1 1/2" opening of a knock down target all day long from 20 yards with a medium grip on the left hand and a firm grip on the right. I've tried the artillary hold and it doesn't work for me.

Based on Jeremy's review (Smaug) I purchased an HW30 urban pro from AOA. Living in the high deserts of So Cal I have ended the days of many large jacks out on my front lawn 17- 23 yards or so. It is so incredibly accurate that head shots are common place. that said I also have an R9 that just blows the pellets right through the critters at that range. My vote HW 30s or perhaps a 50s if backyard stuff is all you will be doing.
