Need a Different Scope

I have an Aztec Emerald on my Impact. I have to get rid of it as I just can't see the reticle all that well. It's a fine scope. No complaints other than I cant see the lines clearly. I have a Hawke sidewinder and its reticle has mil DOTS not hair thin mil lines. It's fine. I am pretty sure age has something to do with the inability to see the reticle clearly.

I want to get a different scope but at least the same quality as the Aztec. Yeah! I could get a Hawke like the one on the other rifle and may do that but I am just wondering if I am missing something that's out there that I should look at before I buy. Thanks for any input.

Jim are you wanting to stay around the 400$ price range ? Because if you are wanting to spend just a little more I would say the SWFA FFP 3-15 Milquad or the Weaver Tactical 5-15 FFP . Both are Incredible Scopes ! There are a lotta good scope out there when you get up around the 4-500$ Mark and up from there

I can happily recomend the Optisan EVX range. I have the 4-16 F1 on my Royale and have another one coming with my Impact soon. Great reticle for hold over and windage and very repeatable turrets. Also very clear glass for the money in my opinion. Matt Dubber has a review on it if you were interested.

Thanks for the thoughts but I went to a Hawke again. Comfort in knowing it's something I have used and like.

A stoopit question; Did you focus the reticule? My neighbor had that very issue, unhappy with his new scope. Brought it over and when I looked through it, the crosshair was very faint. Used the focus and it came in much brighter and thicker. It only needed some adjustment and it was good to go.

Not saying that you didn't do this, just suggesting in case it was missed like my neighbor.

I can second the recommendation for the Optisan EVX 4-16 FFP. I’ve had it on top of my Royale for the past couple months and so far I’ve been really pleased. I think the reticle is nice and easy to see, especially at the higher magnification levels.
