Natural wood vs Camo dipped stocks

No BD but here is a favourite of mine:

And a 25 yards 3 shot group I just shot at 51.5 fpe 879 fps with .22 cal 30 gr PAX Piledrivers of 0.075 BC which still have 26 fpe left at 220 yards!
I just received a very few of these pellets and will be very frugal in using them. They are 3rd from the top:

The POA was 15.25 inches below the group. I have it presently sighted in for a 200 metre/220 yards Fly shoot against rimfires coming up.
Natural wood is hard to beat for sure. BSA Hornet S/N JB OZ 1

I think some of the H&N may be available. You could try Airguns of Arizona.
These few I have were sent to me from UK and were PAX originals.
We will eventually see how they hold up to 220 yards :) :) . ...

Holy Sh-t that is one insanely gorgeous stock. Dude.....if you finished that yourself please let me know how you did it.

The stock is original, walnut, just how it came 9 years ago. I occasionally wipe it over with a citrus furniture oil or with Ballistol . 
The rifle has done a lot of work but has just been raised in power from 44 fpe to a top of 58 fpe (with 33.9 gr .25 JSB Monsters or 53 fpe with .22 JSB Beasts). De-tuned a tad it did 51.5 fpe with the .22 Piledriver 30 gr "boat-tail bullets" for the above group yesterday.

You can send your stock to airgunstocks.com and they can duplicate it for you in a wood of your choice. You can pick a nice Claro Walnut blank and make something sweet.


I have been thinking about a diy wood stock project recently. I'm not a wood fan but it seems like a fun project. I just ordered some figured Zebra wood. It might have been a mistake to have chosen a wood based on my forum screen name though...

As for removing the camo, can't you just sand it off? Or maybe rubbing alcohol or some solvent might work.

The camo dip looks too good to tear off at this time. I considered it, but not ready for such as drastic procedure. It would probably have to be sanded off because it's a high quality job. I'm in search of a second stock. I'm not willing to pay $500 for a stock though.

The camo dip looks too good to tear off at this time. I considered it, but not ready for such as drastic procedure. It would probably have to be sanded off because it's a high quality job. I'm in search of a second stock. I'm not willing to pay $500 for a stock though.

From memory, using the airgunstock guys duplicator was less expensive than that. It might be more like $250.
