I had a mission today. Shoot a couple of N50 cards and do some chrono work with the FX Royale 400 .22.
Shot a couple of N50 cards today with the Anschutz 1907. I have been lot testing some new RWS 100 ammo ( RWS 50 is out of stock everywhere ). Wind was very calm, 0-1 MPH or none at all. Good day to shoot, and it was just me at the Sight In 50/100 range. No flags needed and I forgot my Tuner, so this was going to be a good test to see how it would shoot without the Tuner. Shot a 245 and a 250. I use a Randolph Mechanical Front Rest and I had it locked in pretty tight. Pretty sure I could not shoot as accurately with the Bi-Pod and since the fore end is flat, it's not really set up for a Bi-Pod either.
FX Royale 400 .22 - I had recently purchased a new Jam Nut to place over the HST screw, and I wanted to dial it in at 880 FPS range with the JSB 18.1. I did a few chrono runs and although I mostly zero'd at 20 yards today, it did shoot one ragged hole consistently. Moved out to 50 yards and a couple of groups were 1/2" to 1" in size. It's easy to adjust the HST, but I do have to take the stock off to get at it. Two minutes and finished. The ES values are pretty much single digits to 15 FPS spreads generally.
Squirrels - look out!
